O'Byrne-White leadership plot thickens

Dean Young, Liberal Member for Franklin

The election of Michelle O'Byrne, David's sister, to the ALP National Executive has dramatically upped the stakes in Labor's leadership showdown.

We all know the saying that "blood is thicker than water.

Liberal Member for Franklin Dean Young said with Ms O'Byrne's election to National Executive, Mr O'Byrne now has eyes, ears and the strongest advocate possible within the National Executive to back his push to return.

"On top of that, the reported 10-10 left/right spit on National Executive means that the Prime Minister could have the deciding vote," he said.

"This is the same Prime Minister who ignored Ms White's desperate pleas not to provide Federal funding for the game-changing Macquarie Point Stadium.

"If I was Ms White, I would be very, very nervous about my position."
