Officer charged - Specialist Command 6 January

A police officer has been charged following investigations into an incident in Sydney south-west last year.

Officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation regarding an arrest in Bankstown on Friday 22 July 2022.

Following extensive inquiries, investigators issued a Court Attendance Notice to a 34-year-old man about 10am today (Friday 6 January 2023).

The man – a Senior Constable attached to a specialist command – was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 9 February 2023

The officer has been suspended with their employment status under review.
