As part of its long-term support for strengthening the institutional capacities of the Parliament of Montenegro, the OSCE Mission to Montenegro has continued to enhance the communication and outreach skills of parliamentary staff across various departments. Through two workshops on infographics and data visualization and a specialized training course on video production and editing, the Mission further enhanced Parliament's capacity to communicate information in accessible, engaging, and modern formats.
Two modules of the workshop on data visualization were held in April and June for the staff of the Parliamentary Institute and the Human Resource Bureau. The training sessions prioritized hands-on learning and the development of practical outputs for Parliament's official reports and communication platforms, while enabling staff to create infographics based on data relevant to their daily work.
These workshops enhanced participants' ability to present complex information clearly and visually, strengthening their contribution to key parliamentary functions, including legislative drafting and oversight. The acquired skills will enable them to produce more accessible and engaging reports, publications and other communication materials, thereby improving Parliament's outreach and public communication.
In July, the Mission organized a workshop on video production and post-production for representatives of the Parliament's Educational Centre, Public Relations Bureau, and Production Bureau. The training strengthened participants' skills in planning, recording, and editing audiovisual content, recognizing the growing importance of clear and accessible digital communication in enhancing public understanding of parliamentary work. Through practical exercises, including filming interviews with Members of Parliament, participants developed hands-on experience in framing, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and post-production techniques.
By strengthening the practical communication skills of parliamentary staff, the Mission contributed to Parliament's ability to independently produce high-quality visual and audiovisual content in support of its legislative, educational and public outreach functions. These activities represent another step in the Mission's long-term support to building sustainable institutional capacities and fostering a more transparent and accessible Parliament.
