Over $500,000 Recovered In Underpayments In 2023/24

WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety

Industrial inspectors from Private Sector Labour Relations (PSLR) recovered $548,817 on behalf of employees in the 2023/24 financial year.

This figure comes from proactive compliance activities undertaken by PSLR inspectors and underpayment complaints made to PSLR by employees.

In the last 12 months, industrial inspectors conducted 102 proactive inspections which recovered more than $150,000 on behalf of employees.

In addition to the proactive inspections, industrial inspectors recovered over $300,000 for employees from conciliated complaints. One third of underpayment complaints conciliated related to long service leave entitlements.

State system employers can ensure compliance with state employment laws through finding the correct legal minimum pay rate for their employees on the Finding the right pay rates page.

Information for state and national system employers on long service leave obligations under the WA Long Service Leave Act is available on the Long service Leave overview page.
