Partnership supports education pathways

Navitas and La Trobe University have renewed the La Trobe College Australia agreement for a further ten years.

La Trobe University has renewed its long-standing partnership with global education provider Navitas.

Navitas has partnered with La Trobe since 2010 to deliver pathway programs through an on-campus college at its Melbourne Campus in Bundoora. Over the past decade La Trobe College Australia has helped more than 5,000 students from 42 countries successfully transition to degree programs at the University.

During that time the college has grown significantly, and prior to the COVID-19 pandemic welcomed approximately 1,000 students each year from countries all over the world including China, India, Vietnam, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Cambodia.

Navitas CEO Scott Jones said: "We are delighted to extend our partnership with La Trobe University for another ten years. The strength of this collaboration lies in the diversity of our students and the breadth of courses on offer to them.

"Our pathway program opens doors for aspiring learners from all corners of the world and provides them with the skills and knowledge required to reach their potential both at La Trobe University and beyond, as they progress in their chosen careers."

La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor Professor John Dewar AO welcomed the partnership renewal.

"La Trobe and Navitas have already been working together for more than 10 years to provide a seamless transition for thousands of students moving from the College's programs into our degree courses," Professor Dewar said

"We look forward to the next 10 years as our shared commitment to providing a quality learning environment helps ensure a wide range of domestic and international students succeed in their higher education journeys."

La Trobe College Australia offers a broad range of programs including diploma programs in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Health Sciences, Bioscience, Media and Communications, and Psychology; foundation studies; post graduate pathway programs; and English language programs.

"We pride ourselves on the quality learning experience provided to our students and the academic outcomes they achieve. Our impressive pass rates speak to the quality of our teaching as well as the potential of our students who benefit from tailored academic and pastoral support while also having access to all of the university resources and feeling part of the wider campus community," said Andrew Foley, College Director and Principal at La Trobe College Australia.
