Pedestrian fatal Lakes Entrance

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a pedestrian being struck by a car in Lakes Entrance this afternoon.

Investigators believe a female pedestrian was struck by a Nissan Tiida on Myer Streets about 1.40pm.

The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old Lakes Entrance woman, stopped and is assisting police with their enquiries.

The 83-year-old Lakes Entrance woman was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries but sadly died en route.
