Pedestrian in critical condition after crash at Penrith

A pedestrian is in a critical condition after a crash in Sydney's western suburbs.

About 10am (Monday 26 September 2022), police were called to a Coallee Place, South Penrith, after reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command attended and located an 81-year-old woman with life threatening injuries.

The woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and was conveyed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the car, an 87-year-old man, was taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
