A man has been charged after an alleged clandestine laboratory was allegedly located and 15kg of cannabis seized in the state's Hunter region, under Strike Force Polmont.
About 8.30am yesterday (Wednesday 23 September 2026), officers attached to the State Crime Command's Drugs and Firearms Squad – with assistance from officers attached to the Public Order and Riot Squad and Hunter Valley Police District – executed a search warrant at a property on Cassidy Avenue, Muswellbrook.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized a pistol, a paintball gun, prohibited weapons, approximately 15kg of cannabis, psilocybin, cocaine, THC gummies, steroids, prescription medicine, $12,630 cash, and other items relating to the manufacture of prohibited drugs.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where he was charged with 11 offences including,
- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm (two counts),
- Possess prohibited drug (three counts),
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (two counts),
- Supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity (two counts),
- Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime more than $5000, and
- Take part supply cannabis more than indictable and less than commercial quantity.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Thursday 24 September 2026).
