"The refusal of NSW Premier Perrottet to overturn his new state payroll tax on doctors will result in millions of NSW citizens losing Medicare Bulk Billing"said Dr Robert Marr OAM, GP and President of NSW Doctors Reform Society.
"THE AMA,College of GPs and the Doctors Reform Society have warned Mr Perrottet that his new state payroll tax on doctors would add between $10 and $15 extra to each medical consultation forcing doctors to stop bulk billing or have to close their practice"said Dr Marr
"The Doctors Reform Society estimates that several hundred medical practices would be forced to close in rural and low income areas due to Mr Perrottets new payroll tax on GPs because their patients could not afford to pay higher medical fees to cover the new state tax."said Dr Marr
"As doctors we call on all NSW voters to contact Mr Perrottet and their local Liberal party members of parliament and demand Mr Perrottet commits to overturning this payroll tax before the state election next saturday or it will be too late to save Medicare Bulk Billing in NSW"said Dr Marr
