Perth burglary arrest

WA Police detectives have charged a 44-year-old man in relation to an incident in Perth last night, Wednesday 14 July 2021, in which a woman woke to find man inside her residence.

About 7:40pm the female resident (in her 20s) made an emergency call to police and reported that a man had just entered her property and had threatened her with a pair of scissors.

Several police units were deployed to the scene under emergency conditions and commenced a search of the apartment complex and surrounding area. Information was received from a nearby resident that a male person may have entered what is believed to be an empty apartment. Officers attended the apartment and located a 44-year-old man, who was taken into custody.

A 44-year-old man from Northbridge has been charged with:-

• Aggravated Home Burglary and Commit,

• Common Assault;

• Being Armed in a Way that May Cause Fear;

• Home Burglary and Commit; and

• Stealing.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates court today, Thursday 15 July 2021.
