About 6.55pm, a silver Kia Optima sedan was travelling on the Wickepin-Pingelly Road when near Smith Street, the Kia left the road and hit a tree.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, an 18year-old male, sustained critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.
