PolAir tracks suspects at Taperoo

Two people have been arrested and police are looking for others after a stolen car was dumped at Taperoo this morning.

About 7.10am Monday 6 March police were called to Tapleys Hill Road, Hendon, after members of the public reported that a silver BMW was driving dangerously. Checks revealed the car had been stolen from a St Clair address on Friday 3 March.

PolAir was called in to help search for the car and found it travelling north toward Taperoo before it entered the back streets. The car was seen again on Mersy Road travelling at high speeds before making its way over to Ventura Avenue where people were seen getting out of the car and running off.

The car continued to Paringa Street where it was dumped and PolAir tracked two people as they ran from the car to a house on Wandana Terrace.

Patrols surrounded the house and arrested a 16-year-old Taperoo boy and a 14-year-old West Lakes boy. They are expected to be charged with a number of serious offences including illegal use and manner dangerous.
