Police Are Investigating House Fire At Redhill

A man has died and two people remain in hospital following a fire at Redhill last night.

Just after 7pm on Saturday 19 September, police and emergency crews responded to reports of a house fire on Hope Street, Redhill.

A 63-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were found with serious burns and were airlifted to hospital in Adelaide for treatment.

The man's injuries are believed to be life threatening while the woman remains in a stable condition.

Once the fire was extinguished and the property was safe to enter, firefighters then located the body of a 65-year-old man.

Yorke Mid North Detectives will allege the 63-year-old man from Wirrabara attended at the Hope Street home and deliberately lit the fire which also resulted in him sustaining severe burns.

The man is expected to be charged with murder, attempt murder and arson once medically possible.

Local detectives are being assisted at the scene by Major Crime and Forensic Response officers.

The incident is not considered random and the parties involved were known to each other.
