Police are responding to fatal crash, Meadowbrook

A 48-year-old man has died following a five vehicle crash at Meadowbrook yesterday afternoon (June 24).

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 2.50pm a collision involving two trucks and a Nissan X-trail occurred on the Logan Motorway.

Two vehicles have subsequently been involved in a minor collision with the rear of one of the trucks.

The driver of the Nissan X-Trail, a 48-year-old Ormeau Hills man, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

A 22-year-old Coombabah man, a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The drivers and sole occupants of the two trucks, suffered non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital in stable conditions.

The drivers and sole occupants of the two vehicles involved in the subsequent crash did not suffer any physical injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
