Police arrest two for firearm offences

A traffic stop at Mallala yesterday leads to the arrest of two men for drug and firearm offences.

About 12.15pm on Sunday 26 April, Police stopped a vehicle on Mallala Road at Mallala. A search was conducted of the vehicle and five firearms, approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine, 14 grams of MDMA and $8,570 cash was located.

Detectives from Serious and Organised Crime Branch arrested the driver and passenger. A 20-year-old man from Munno Para West and a 26-year-old man from Wild Horse Plains were both charged with trafficking a controlled drug, five counts of possess a firearm without a licence, five counts of failing to secure a firearm and unlawful possession.

Both men were granted bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on the 6 August.
