Police charge four with robbery offences in Launceston

Launceston CIB have charged four offenders with aggravated robbery and armed robbery in the past 24 hours. The charges arise from two unrelated incidents.

On 30/10/2022 an aggravated robbery occurred at City Park, Launceston at around 2am. The victim was walking through the park when he was assaulted and property stolen from him. The mans injuries were non life threatening.

Launceston CIB have charged a 16 year old youth from Waverley and a 18 year old man from Ravenswood with aggravated robbery. Both have been bailed to appear in court at a later date.

On 11/11/2022 at approximately 6.50am a person entered a Ravenswood business armed with what appeared to be a firearm. No-one was injured during the incident but a quanity of cash was stolen. Two offenders were taken into custody shortly after the incident, however a third offender remains outstanding.

Police today charged a 30 year old man from Ravenswood and a 35 year old man from Ravenswood with aggravated armed robbery. A third offender remains at large and police would like to hear from any person who saw three males acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the Ravenswood shopping area in the early hours of Firiday 11/11/2022.
