Police charge man after air rifle shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have laid charges after a man presented to hospital with puncture wounds to the buttocks and lower back.

A 39-year-old Ballarat man attended a hospital in Ballarat with multiple non-life-threatening wounds on 18 July.

It will be alleged the injuries were caused by an air rifle during a dispute.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Drummond Street, Ballarat, yesterday.

A 37-year-old Ballarat man was arrested and subsequently charged with intentionally cause injury and possess ammunition.

He has been remanded to face Ballarat Magistrates Court this morning.
