Adventure seekers around the country have a thrilling new reason to visit Tasmania, with TreeClimb Australia opening its first adventure park outside South Australia this weekend.

The action-packed aerial adventure park has been created in bushland near Hobart, delivering a boost to tourism, jobs and the local economy.

It features 89 aerial elements spread across six courses, including four "Grand" courses for thrill-seekers and two dedicated courses for younger adventurers.

Visitors will tackle rope bridges, suspended obstacles and more than 612 metres of ziplines soaring through the Tasmanian bush.

A major drawcard will be the highest Tarzan swing in Australia, launching from 11.5 metres above the ground, roughly the height of a 3.5-storey building.

TreeClimb Australia general manager Rhiannon Noble said the park had plenty to offer both locals and visitors.

"I think it'll create a point of difference, there isn't anything like it in the region so it's something new for families to do and also adds another adventure element to the tourism market," Ms Noble said.

"It's something different to do, it provides that adrenaline rush and a sense of teamwork as people encourage each other along through the courses."

More than two years in the making, the adventure park was developed following the acquisition of Tas Laser Skirmish.

It features repurposed shipping containers and purpose-built infrastructure, a café, undercover seating and space for events.

Ms Noble said Hobart was an ideal location for the aerial adventure park.

"It definitely suited the demographic we were looking for, people who like to be outside, people who like to get out in nature and it's something that's easily accessible from a main city," Ms Noble said.

"We've had fantastic interest, already quite a few large bookings in and it is generating a lot of interest online."

The course can host up to 440 climbers a day and also caters to school groups, birthday parties and corporate events.
