Police charge man after fatal stabbing at Bomaderry

A man has been charged following a fatal stabbing in Bomaderry earlier this month.

About 7pm Friday 9 December 2022, officers from South Coast Police District were called to West Birriley Street, Bomaderry, following reports an 18-year-old man had suffered chest injuries.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a critical condition; however, he died a short time later.

Police established a crime scene and begun investigations under Strike Force Elephant.

Following extensive inquiries, about 7.45am yesterday (Thursday 21 December 2022), a 20-year-old was arrested at a home on West Birriley Street, Bomaderry.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station where he was charged with murder, possess unauthorised firearm and not keep firearm safely.

The 20-year-old appeared in Nowra Local Court yesterday, where he was refused bail to re-appear at the same court on Tuesday 7 February 2023.
