Police charge man after Frankston intercept

Southern Metro Division 4 Response Unit have charged a man after he was intercepted driving a vehicle in Frankston last night.

Officers stopped the Black Mazda BT50 on Bondi Avenue and spoke with the 30-year-old driver about 7.30pm.

A search of the man's vehicle located a taser, quantity of drugs and cash.

Police have since executed a search warrant at a residential property on Screen Street, Frankston.

During the search of the premises, officers located a number of items including:

• Three handguns (one loaded);

• A rifle;

• Various ammunition;

• Commercial quantity of what is believed to be methylamphetamine and 1: 4 butanediol;

• Fireworks and;

• A number of edged weapons.

A 27-year-old woman from Capel Sound who was also in the vehicle at the time, was spoken to and released without charge.

The Frankston man has been charged with:

• Possess trafficable quantity of unregistered firearms

• Traffick commercial quantity of Methylamphetamine

• Traffick 1, 4 Butanediol

• Fail to comply with a direction to assist

He was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court today.

The investigation remains ongoing.
