Police charge man after shots fired at house at Aberdeen

A man will face court tomorrow, charged after shots were allegedly fired at a house in the state's Hunter Region today.

Shortly before 12.20pm today (Thursday 9 December 2021), officers from Hunter Valley Police District were called to McAdam Street, Aberdeen, following reports of gunshots.

No one was injured.

Officers established a perimeter and commenced inquiries into the incident.

A short time later, a 62-year-old man was arrested on nearby MacQueen Street and was taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.

Police conducted a search of the man's home where several firearms and ammunition were allegedly seized.

The man was charged with fire firearm manner likely injure persons/property, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, not keep firearm safely-pistol, not keep firearm safely-not pistol/prohibited and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear in Muswellbrook Local Court tomorrow (Friday 10 December 2021).
