A man has been charged following an alleged stabbing in Parramatta yesterday.
About 7:30am (Friday 18 April 2024), emergency services were called to George Street following reports of an alleged assault.
On arrival, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command found a 28-year-old man with stab wounds to his back and wrist.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
A second man left the scene prior to police arrival.
An investigation into the incident commenced and a crime scene was established.
Following inquiries, about 10:50am today (Saturday 19 April 2025), officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended a unit on Livingstone Street, Lake Macquarie, where they arrested a 25-year-old man.
He was taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He will appear before Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 20 April 2025).
