Police charge man after stabbing at Wyong

A man has been charged over an alleged stabbing on the Central Coast.

About 2.10pm yesterday (Tuesday 5 January 2021), emergency services were called to a resort on Boyce Avenue, Wyong, following reports a man had been stabbed several times.

A 64-year-old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital for treatment to stab wounds to his stomach. He is reported to be in a stable condition.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Following inquiries, three men – aged 38, 45 and 56 – were arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station shortly before 6pm the same day.

The youngest man was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and special aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court today (Wednesday 6 January 2021).

The other two men were released pending further inquiries.

Investigations remain ongoing.
