Police charge man after Upwey stabbing

Yarra Ranges Crime Investigation Unit members have charged a man following an alleged stabbing which occurred in Upwey on 22 September.

It's understood two men were involved in a dispute in a car park on Mast Gully Road around 7.30pm.

During the dispute, a 22-year-old Belgrave Heights man was allegedly stabbed to the face.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other man allegedly left the scene.

A 21-year-old Ferntree Gully man was arrested this afternoon.

He has been charged with Intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury, assault with a weapon and was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on 29 September.
