Police charge man after Wedderburn non-fatal shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have charged a man following their investigation into an alleged non-fatal shooting in Wedderburn on 30 January.

Police were called to a property on the Calder Highway in Wedderburn following reports of a 49-year-old Croydon man with a gunshot injury about 7.30pm.

On 31 January, detectives executed a search warrant at an address on the Calder Highway, locating firearms, cannabis and three allegedly stolen vehicles.

A 65-year-old Wedderburn man was also arrested in the Wedderburn area and charged with firearms offences, drug offences, and handle stolen goods.

Following further enquiries, the Wedderburn man was re-interviewed earlier today and subsequently charged with reckless conduct endanger life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury and intentionally cause injury.

The man was also charged with reckless conduct endanger life and reckless conduct endanger serious injury for an unrelated matter.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this evening.
