A man has been charged over alleged 'dial a dealer' drug supply in Sydney's south-west.

In December 2022, officers attached to Police Transport Command's Proactive Crime Team commenced an investigation into the supply of cannabis in and around the Bankstown CBD transport hub.

As part of ongoing inquiries, about 5.20pm on Friday 3 February 2023, police stopped a vehicle on Stacey Street, Bankstown.

During a search of the vehicle, officers seized resealable bags and three mobile phones.

The 24-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station.

About 10.25pm, a search warrant was executed at an address on Sir Joseph Banks Street, Bankstown, where officers located approximately 10.5kg of cannabis with a street value of approximately $850,000, cannabis oil, prescription medication and mobile phones. All items were seized for further forensic examination.

The man was charged eight offences, including

- Two counts of supply prohibited drug (larger than indictable quality, smaller than commercial quantity)

- Two counts of supply prohibited drug

- Knowingly/recklessly direct criminal group assist crime, and

- Three counts of drive motor vehicle while licence suspended

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday 14 February 2023.

Investigators will allege in court that between December 2022 and February 2023 the man was directing a criminal group for the purpose of drug supply in the Bankstown area.

Inquiries are ongoing.
