Police charge man over drug supply - Murray River

A man has been arrested in the Murray River region and charged over the alleged supply of prohibited drugs.

About 9pm yesterday (Thursday 27 May 2021), officers attached to the Murray River Police District stopped a black Mercedes X-Class on the Cobb Highway, Moama, and spoke with the 31-year-old driver.

A subsequent search of the car allegedly revealed a large quantity of a yellow substance believed to be amphetamine. Police also seized $7,000 in cash.

The Victorian man was arrested and taken to Moama Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, and deal with proceeds of crime.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Moama Local Court on Wednesday 7 July 2021.
