Police charge man over sexual offences at Parramatta

A 40-year-old Thai National has been charged after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault at Parramatta last year.

About 2.00am on Sunday 29 December 2019, the man allegedly met with a 26-year-old woman at a unit in Parramatta.

It will be alleged in court the man gave the woman an alcoholic drink which contained illicit drugs without her knowledge.

The woman later lost consciousness and it will be alleged the man sexually assaulted her.

The woman reported the matter to officers from Parramatta Police Area Command, who commenced an investigation.

Following a lengthy investigation, a 40-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station about 11am today and taken into custody. He was charged with 14 offences, including:

  • Knowingly live on earnings of others prostitution (two counts);
  • Publish advertisement for a prostitute;
  • Keep disorderly house (3 counts);
  • Sexual intercourse without consent;
  • Use carriage service to menace/harass/offend;
  • Aggravated offence re private sexual material using carriage service;
  • Film person's private parts without consent;
  • Procure person not prostitute for prostitution;
  • Non-citizen, breach work condition of temporary visa;
  • Allow lawful non-citizen to work breach visa – aggravated offence; and
  • Use intoxicating substance to commit indictable offence

The man was refused bail and appeared in Parramatta Local Court today where
