Police charge man with fatal pedestrian collision in South Yarra

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have today charged a man with dangerous driving causing death following a fatal collision in South Yarra last year.

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car on Chapel Street in South Yarra on 18 October, 2018 just before 9pm.

The pedestrian, a 73-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Balwyn man, was charged with dangerous driving causing death and other traffic related offences.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 23 October.
