Police charge three after series of aggravated home invasions in Tarneit

Investigators from Werribee, Wyndham CIU and Westgate Wayward Taskforce have arrested three males this morning, following a series of aggravated home invasions and associated offending across Melbourne's western suburbs.

Police have been told a number of male offenders forced entry to a Daintree Avenue home in Tarneit just before 2am, stealing items including a mobile phone and silver Mazda car.

Three hours later, just before 5am, it is believed the same offenders attempted to steal another vehicle from a Garig Way, Tarneit address, but were unsuccessful.

At approximately 5.10am, investigators have been told three offenders gained entry to an Edith Street, Tarneit home, assaulting the occupants and stealing various items.

Similarly, just after 6am, three offenders allegedly forced entry to a Cuttlefish Street home in Tarneit, assaulting the occupants and stealing various items.

At approximately 6.18am, police observed the offenders in the allegedly stolen silver Mazda on Gateway Avenue in Hoppers Crossing.

Officers commenced pursuit, and the vehicle was intercepted on Hogans Road in Truganina.

A 17-year-old Laverton North male was charged with a range of offences, including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, theft, theft of motor vehicle and dangerous driving.

He was remanded to appear at a children's court on 29 December 2021.

An 18-year-old Hoppers Crossing man was charged with a range of offences, including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 29 December 2021.

A 16-year-old Melton South male was charged with a range of offences, including aggravated home invasion, aggravated burglary, assault, theft, and theft of motor vehicle.

He was remanded to appear at a children's court on 14 January 2022.
