Three men will appear in court today charged as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged supply of prohibited drugs in Sydney's south west.
In February this year, Strike Force Cowed was established by detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command to investigate the supply of methamphetamine in the local area.
Throughout the investigation, police seized 626g of methylamphetamines, with an estimated potential street value of $563,400.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators, with assistance from specialist police attached to South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group, arrested three men – aged 40, 30 and 23 – in Leppington from 11.30am yesterday (Thursday 18 August 2022).
Three subsequent search warrants were executed at homes in Bradbury, Rosemeadow and Mt Druitt, where police seized $75,000 cash, 2kg of cannabis, 50g of cocaine, a replica Glock and electronic devices.
The items will undergo forensic examination.
The men were taken to Campbelltown Police Station, where the oldest man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), six counts of supply indictable quantity prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
The 30-year-old man was charged with supply indictable quantity prohibited drug, drive motor vehicle while licence suspended and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
The younger man was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial quantity), five counts of supply indictable quantity prohibited drug, supply indictable quantity cannabis, deal with proceeds of crime, participate in criminal group and possess unregistered firearm-pistol.
All three men were refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday 19 August 2022).
