Police charge two after search warrant in Wauchope

A man and a woman have been charged with drug, property and firearms related offences following a police operation on the state's mid north coast yesterday.

About 8.30am (Wednesday 10 August 2022), officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District, executed a search warrant at a property on High Street, Wauchope.

Officers located and seized, a shortened shotgun, ammunition, unauthorised prescription medication, a motorcycle and jewellery.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Port Macquarie police station.

She was charged with:

- Possess shortened firearm (not pistol) w/o authority

- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm

- Possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority

- Possess prohibited plant

- Enhanced indoor cultivate prohibited plant-expose child

- Possess prohibited drug

- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance

- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises

- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises

About 3.30pm, a second search warrant was executed at a property on Business Circuit, Wauchope.

Officers located and seized four gel-blaster firearms, a .303 rifle and ammunition.

A 31-year-old man was charged with:

- Possess shortened firearm

- Possess unauthorised prohibited firearm-

- Possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority

- Possess unauthorised pistol

- Possess unauthorised firearm

- Possess unregistered firearms

- Enhanced indoor cultivate prohibited plant-expose child

- Possess prohibited plant

- Possess prohibited drug

- Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance

- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises

- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises

They were both refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday 11 August 2022.
