Two men will appear in court today charged following an investigation into a number of property offences in the state's north.
Yesterday (Thursday 3 November), officers from Oxley Police District received reports of property theft in the Tamworth Suburb of Hillvue.
Police were told cash was reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked on Boulevard Place, and a Toyota Corolla was allegedly stolen from the same street, between 10pm (Wednesday 2 November 2022) and 7.30am (Thursday 3 November 2022),
CCTV footage also reportedly captured two people attempting to enter vehicles and a home on Bandalong Street, about 3am (Thursday 3 November 2022).
Following inquiries, officers attached to Oxley Police District arrested an 18-year-old man on Susanne Street, South Tamworth and a 19-year-old man on Hillvue Road, West Tamworth about 6.30am yesterday (Thursday 3 November 2022).
They were both taken to Tamworth Police Station.
The younger man was charged with four counts of enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, larceny, face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime (less than or equal to $5000), and be carried in conveyance without consent of owner.
The older man was charged with two counts of enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime (less than or equal to $5000), larceny, face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, and give false name.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today (Friday 4 November 2022).
