Police Impound Car Following brazen Burnout Stunt

A driver caught allegedly conducting a burnout with his three young children in the back seat has had his vehicle impounded on Tuesday, 12 September.

Public Order Response Team (PORT) allegedly observed a car complete a burnout on Poplar Avenue, Shepparton, about 7.30pm.

Police intercepted the vehicle and then discovered three young children in the back seat.

A 32-year-old Shepparton man will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

The vehicle was impounded at a cost $1375 for 30 days.

Public Order Response Team, with support from Police Air Wing, Dog Squad, Transit Safety Division, Road Policing Command and local divisional resources, conducted Operation Summit from Tuesday 12 September to Thursday 14 September 2023.

The operation targeted road policing and public order issues within the Greater Shepparton area, following an increase in both fatal and serious injury collisions.

Police will continue to be highly visible to detect and deter crime and enhance public safety.
