Police Investigate Doncaster East Attempted Abduction

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an attempted abduction in Doncaster East last month.

Investigators have been told an 11-year-old girl was walking home from school along Landscape Drive when an unknown man in a grey Audi Q3 SUV approached her around 2.40pm on Thursday 28 March.

The man was driving east along Landscape Road, when he performed a U-turn and stopped a short distance from the girl.

Investigators have been told the unknown man ordered the girl to get into the vehicle.

The girl managed to run and hid herself in nearby bushes.

It is believed the Audi fled south on Taurus Road.

The girl sought help from a nearby resident and was not physically injured.

The man is perceived to be Middle Eastern in appearance with tan skin, black hair, a black beard, and a moustache.

He was wearing sunglasses with brown lenses, and a grey t-shirt.

Detectives have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or with any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
