Police investigate serious assault at Sunshine Coast

Sunshine Coast detectives have released a photo of a vehicle as part of an investigation into a serious assault at Kiamba yesterday.

Around 4pm a 41-year-old man entered a black BMW 320i occupied by a man and woman known to him.

Shortly afterwards the three got out of the vehicle on Upper Hutton Road in Kiamba.

The driver threatened the man, pointing a gun at him.

A short scuffle ensued, before the firearm went off and the driver stabbed the man in the left arm with a knife.

The pair stole the man's phone, watch and other personal items before they fled in the BMW.

The car is registered to a Sunshine Coast address and was seen in Maroochydore this morning.

The man is described as Caucasian, average build with black hair, while the woman is of a dark complexion and of an average build.

Anyone who may have seen the pair, or the BMW are urged not to approach and contact police.
