Police investigate theft of precious memories

Croydon police are appealing for public assistance to locate a car stolen from a Wantirna South service station last Wednesday, Victoria Police say.

The car belongs to an 82-year-old Glen Waverley man and contained precious photographs and a memorial plaque of his wife who passed away two years ago.

The victim pulled up on the apron of a service station on the corner of High Street Road and Cathies lane to get petrol at 4.45pm.

When the man walked into the service station to pay for his petrol a man got into the car, a fawn 2000-2002 VX Holden Commodore with registration RRM 480, and drove away.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist them with their enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
