Police lay charges - Serious Crash - Bees Creek

Northern Territory Police have charged the driver involved in a serious motor vehicle crash that occurred in Bees Creek overnight.

At around 1.30am police received a report of a crash involving a Honda ATV on Bees Creek Road.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner says the vehicle left the road, hit a street sign and rolled several times before landing on its roof in a culvert.

"The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing helmets but it appears they did have their seatbelts on."

The 33-year-old female passenger is in a critical condition in Royal Darwin Hospital.

The 35-year-old male driver is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man has been charged with:

  • Dangerous driving causing harm
  • Drive under influence of alcohol
  • Drive unregistered
  • Drive uninsured

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Tuesday 5 January 2021.
