Police lay drug trafficking charges at Paddington

Police have charged a man with multiple offences after a grow house along with other dangerous drugs were located at a residence in Paddington yesterday.

Detectives from Dutton Park CIB executed a search warrant on the residence as part of ongoing investigations into an alleged rape that occurred in West End on June 25.

Upon entering the premises, officers located a significant amount of cannabis, as well as a large grow tent in the living room.

A further search of the residence also uncovered cocaine, psychedelic mushrooms, MDMA tablets and almost $100,000 in cash.

A 23-year-old Paddington man was arrested and charged with two counts each of rape, supply dangerous drugs, possess anything used in the commission of crime, and possess utensils, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of trafficking dangerous drugs and producing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today (July 15).
