Police Make Arrest - Aggravated Assault In Darwin City 10 April

Northern Territory Police responded to a reported disturbance at a licensed premises on Mitchell Street, Darwin City, earlier today.

At around 5:17pm, a male security officer escorting a woman off the premises was threatened and subsequently stabbed by the woman, who was armed with a pair of scissors. Members of the public assisted in providing first aid to the security officer, who sustained a stab wound to the upper leg, until the arrival of St John Ambulance.

The woman then proceeded to the Darwin Bus Exchange, where she assaulted a woman by stabbing her in the head twice with the scissors.

CCTV operators identified the woman, leading to her arrest by attending Darwin General Duties members. Crime Duty Crew Detectives are currently investigating the matter, with an established crime scene being processed by Crime Scene Examiners.

At this time, both victims are receiving treatment at the Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or possesses dash-cam footage of Mitchell Street between 5 pm and 6 pm to contact them on 131 444.
