An investigation is underway after a woman was fatally stabbed in the state's south.
About 11.45am today (Saturday 19 September 2026), emergency services responded to reports that a woman had been stabbed at a home on Ziegler Avenue, Kooringal, a suburb of Wagga Wagga.
NSW Ambulance paramedics and officers from the Riverina Police District performed CPR on a 23-year-old woman but she died at the home.
Police have been informed that a man left the location prior to the arrival of emergency services.
Another man - aged 18 - was arrested at the scene and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
All parties are believed to be known to one another.
Police have established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist officers, and an investigation has commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
