Part of the 'Lachlan's Line' master planned precinct, the project on Halifax Street, Macquarie Park, will deliver two 14-storey residential buildings, with rooftop gardens, landscaping around the site, communal rooms for residents and basement parking.
Seventy of the new homes will be social housing and a further 71 affordable homes to support low and moderate income households to live near transport, jobs, and services.
The Albanese and Minns' Labor Governments are partnering together to deliver thousands of new homes thanks to the largest investment in social and affordable housing in history.
The Lachlan's Line project is being delivered by community housing provider Link Wentworth in partnership with Landcom and Homes NSW, with funding support from the Housing Australia Future Fund.
It adds to the significant pipeline of new housing across Macquarie Park, including the nearby Midtown MacPark development, which will deliver around 3,300 homes across multiple stages, including more than 1,100 social homes and 130 affordable homes.
Comprised of 4 studio units, 87 one-bedroom units and 50 two-bedroom units, the new homes will be located within a mixed-use precinct, close to shops, key services and amenities, while having strong transport links including the new metro.
It is one of hundreds of projects currently under construction thanks to the Minns Labor Government's historic $6.6 billion investment in social housing, which is delivering 8,400 new public homes.
Construction is currently underway and expected to be complete by mid-2028.
