Police Probe Firearm Incident in Benjamin Terrace

Detectives from Bridgewater CIB are investigating a firearm incident that occurred at New Norfolk overnight.

Police attended the scene about 2am, after a firearm was reported as being discharged at a house on Benjamin Terrace, New Norfolk. No one was injured and no property was damaged.

At least two men are alleged to be involved in the incident.

At this early stage of the investigation, it appears that the parties involved are known to each other and there is no risk to the wider public.

Tasmania Police takes firearm crime seriously and investigations are continuing into the matter today.
