Police seek help to locate bottle bandit in Glengarry

Police officers from Morwell are searching for a driver after a bottle was flung from a moving vehicle towards a speed camera operator.

The operator was parked on Traralgon - Maffra Road in Glengarry about 7.15pm on 31 December last year.

It's understood that the operator heard a male voice, then a loud crack, as the glass bottle was thrown from a moving vehicle at the windscreen of his vehicle, causing extensive damage.

The victim, a 62-year-old Toongabbie man, was uninjured during the incident.

The vehicle is described as a white dual cab ute, possibly a Nissan Navara D22 with two spotlights, a silver bulbar, black tray and was carrying a blue esky in the tray.

Police have today released pictures of the car and vision of the incident in the hope that someone may recognise the vehicle.

Officers have been unable to obtain a registration number from the footage.

Investigators are urging anyone who recognises the vehicle or with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit an anonymous report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
