Police seek help to locate man missing in waters near Port Macquarie

A search will resume tomorrow for a man believed missing on the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales.

About 7.45am on Saturday 19 September 2020, Emergency services were called to Lighthouse Beach, south of Port Macquarie, responding to reports a man had gone missing at that location.

Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District, assisted by local SES, conducted a land search of bushland around Lighthouse Beach. Staff from Surf Lifesaving NSW using watercraft searched the ocean south to Watonga Rock and north to Shelly Beach.

The man was unable to be located and the land and sea search was suspended around 5.00pm.

The search will resume about 7.30am tomorrow (Sunday 19 September 2020), with assistance from Water Police from Coffs Harbour.
