Police seek help to locate Tyrone Mobourne after Maffra hit-run

Fugitive Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate Tyrone Mobourne after a man was killed in a Maffra hit-run collision on 5 February.

A 36-year-old Maffra man died in hospital after being hit by a stolen car on Morrison Street about 3.40am.

The driver fled the scene in the stolen Kia, which was then located on Roberts Court in Maffra about 6am later that morning.

Detectives are looking to speak to Mobourne as part of their investigation into the death of the man and are actively searching for him.

The 24-year-old man of no fixed address is known to frequent the Morwell, Moe, Sale and Churchill areas.

Mobourne is described as Aboriginal in appearance, 175cm tall with brown eyes, dark hair and thin build.

Police have released images of Mobourne in the hope someone is able to identify him or provide information on his current whereabouts.

Investigators are also appealing for Mobourne to come forward and make himself known to police by contacting his nearest police station.

Anyone who sights Mobourne is urged not to approach him and to call triple zero (000) immediately.
