Police seek information on Grass fires in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after multiple grass fires were lit in the Todd River yesterday.

Around 12:50pm, emergency services received reports a woman was allegedly lighting fires in the vicinity of The Gap.

Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fires while Northern Territory Police attended and arrested the woman, who subsequently assaulted an officer.

The officer did not receive injuries.

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in the vicinity of Heavitree Gap and the Todd River between South Terrace, Palm Circuit and Len Kittle Drive, yesterday, Tuesday 30 January 2024 between 12:30PM and 1:30PM who may have seen suspicious behaviour to make contact on 131 444. Police are particularly interested in CCTV or dash-cam footage.
