Police seek information on Structure fire in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police and Northern Territory Fire Rescue Service are investigating a suspicious fire at an Alice Springs residence yesterday.

At around 4pm, Police received reports of smoke coming from a residence on Spearwood Road, Sadadeen. Within a short time, the fire had engulfed the entire kitchen. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, however the building sustained significant damage.

Acting District Officer David Letheby said, "Deliberate property damage is unacceptable. It is fortunate that no one was home at the time of the fire."

Police are calling for anyone who has information or CCTV footage to contact them on 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference number 9517501.
