Police Seek Witnesses in Buderim Hit-and-Run Crash

Police have released vision of a vehicle, the driver of which may be able to assist police after a cyclist was hit in Buderim on May 7.

Investigations indicate a 13-year-old Mooloolaba boy was riding his bicycle on Sugar Road just after 6pm when he was struck by a vehicle at the roundabout intersection with Wises Road.

The vehicle is now believed to be a white 4wd dual cab utility with black rims and a white canopy which initially travelled south on Maud Street to Sugar Road prior to the incident. After the incident, the vehicle continued briefly on Sugar Road before it's believed it turned right onto Okinja Crescent.

Investigators are appealing for the driver, or anyone with further information or knowledge of similar vehicles to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit officers would also like to speak to the driver of a white Hyundai i20 three door hatchback with P plates, who stopped at the time and possibly witnessed the incident.

The boy sustained serious leg injuries and has undergone four major surgeries. He remains in the Queensland Children's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
