Police seeking identification - Broadbeach

Police are seeking public assistance to identify an elderly woman whose body was located in the Nerang River at Southport yesterday morning.

The woman's death is not being treated as suspicious however police do not know who the woman is as she did not have any identification with her when she was found and there have been no missing persons reports listed for her.

Police have been doorknocking the local area with no success and are appealing to people to check on the welfare of their elderly neighbours or relatives particularly those living alone.

The woman is described as having a Caucasian appearance, around 75 to 80 years old with short grey hair and was wearing a purple and white floral buttoned shirt (with the patterned pictured) and dark blue long pants and no shoes.
